Noodle Nonsense: How to Play, Aim and Land

Hold the throwing control to build power, drag left or right while holding to aim, then release. Let the noodle settle on the marked target until the hold progress fills. If a stage introduces a new rule, open Help before your next throw.

Make your first throw

Choose Campaign from the game mode screen. Look for the marked landing spot and check whether the stage asks you to use a mechanism before you land.

  1. Open Help to watch the rule demonstration, then return to the stage.
  2. Press and hold the throwing control. The power bar rises while you keep holding.
  3. While still holding, drag left for a higher arc or right for a lower arc. Power continues to build as you aim.
  4. Release your finger to throw. Watch where the noodle first touches the target and where it ends up.
  5. Wait for the hold progress to fill and the success result to appear. A brief touch is not a completed landing.

Use the first cup to learn the landing

The first stage, Cup Needs a Fringe, asks you to hang the noodle on a cup. Aim for the marked landing area and watch whether the noodle reaches it, crosses over it, or touches it and slips off.

Use that result to choose your next adjustment. If the noodle travels too far, try less power while keeping a similar aim. If the arc is the problem, change the angle. Avoid changing everything at once: a small, deliberate adjustment makes the next result easier to understand.

Full power is not a requirement. The goal is to reach the correct spot and remain there, rather than throw as hard as possible.

Check what went wrong before retrying

Read the result message and use Replay throw when it is available. Follow the noodle through the approach, first contact and final landing.

  • Missed the target: compare the path with the landing spot. Adjust power for reach or angle for the arc, then try again.
  • Touched and slipped: contact alone is not enough. Try to place more of the noodle over the intended landing area and let it settle.
  • Stopped on grey scenery: a stable landing on an obstacle does not count. Find the marked target beyond or around it.
  • Landed but did not pass: check for an unfinished rule, such as a bounce pad, numbered hoops or a key, and confirm that you used the correct part of the target.
  • Time ran out: waiting, charging and flight use the stage timer. Open Help or pause when you need time to review the rule, then return to play.

Follow the stage's mechanism

The basic throw stays the same, but the route or landing condition can change. These are common examples; use the current stage's Help for its specific rule.

  • Moving targets: watch a movement cycle and aim for where the target will be when the noodle arrives.
  • Bounce pads: land on the pad first, then let the upward bounce carry the noodle toward the target.
  • Bubble lifts: pass through the blue bubbles to gain lift, then settle on the target.
  • Portals: enter the blue ring and emerge from the orange ring. The noodle carries its speed through, so the entry path matters.
  • Gravity flips: throw below the target, then tap once at the right moment to flip gravity. Land on the green underside; grey edges do not count.
  • Clamps: throw first, then tap when the noodle's centre enters the green catch area. The clamp does not close automatically.
  • Numbered hoops: pass through the hoops in order before landing and holding on the target.
  • Keys and moving gates: touch the gold key to open its barrier, or time the throw through a moving opening, before completing the landing.
  • Two landing spots or a handle: bridge both marked spots with the same noodle, or use the marked handle. A nearby rim is not a substitute.

Use Help and replay for different questions

Help explains what the stage requires and shows a rule demonstration. Replay throw shows your recorded attempt, so you can inspect why that particular throw missed or slipped.

After watching, choose one change for the next attempt: the launch angle, the amount of power, or the timing of a stage action. The demonstration is a guide to the rule, not a promise that one fixed throw will solve every stage.

Questions players ask

Why does touching the target not finish a stage?

The noodle must satisfy the stage's landing rule and remain stable long enough for the hold progress to fill. A brief touch, the wrong surface or an unfinished mechanism can prevent completion.

Do I need to tap again after every throw?

No. A second tap is used for specific actions, such as closing a clamp or flipping gravity. Check Help for the current stage instead of tapping after every launch.

Do I have to watch an ad to keep playing?

Rewarded ads offer optional help in Campaign, such as boosts or a longer noodle. Core gameplay continues when an ad is unavailable. The free game also has interstitial ads that may appear between rounds.

Can I play Noodle Nonsense offline?

Core gameplay is available offline. Advertising and support links need an internet connection. Campaign progress and daily personal bests are stored on your device, without an account or cloud sync.
